Goldhofer Heavy Duty Axle Lines at ALE Heavy Lif
British Transportation Specialist Counts on THP/SL Combination
This name is meant literally: Abnormal Load Engineering Ltd. (ALE) headquartered in Hixon, England, is the absolute specialist for unusual transportation. Heavy loads and heaviest loads transports of any kind are the speciality of the international ALE group of companies which by now is represented at 22 different locations. Now, the group company ALE Ltd. has caused a stir with an investment that is new for the company. For the first time ever in the corporate history, the globally active transportation pioneer invested in Goldhofer know-how: Lately there have been 64 axle lines of Goldhofer´s heavy-duty series THP/SL, one low profile deck, gooseneck and one vessel deck under the ALE flag on the roads.
“It makes us very glad that such a prestigious specialist like ALE wants to master its future transport challenges with quality products from our company. ALE is one of the leading global transportation companies and thus, of course, an outstanding reference for us as manufacturer. The investment shows that ALE has found in our company what its previous suppliers could not provide,” says Stefan Fuchs, CEO of Goldhofer Ag, registered in Memmingen (Bavaria, Germany).
The 64 heavy-duty axle lines delivered recently to ALE are modular heavy-duty combinations with a technical axle load of 36 tons per axle line. The axle lines may be combined in any order one behind the other or in parallel mode which gives the transportation company maximum flexibility. “The great advantage of the THP/SL combination is that these modules may be combined with various accessories ensuring flexible utilisation. There is also the possibility of extending these modules by self-propelled modules of the PST range without height difference with mechanical and electronic steering,” explains Horst Häfele, Director of Sales Heavy Duty Equipment of Goldhofer AG.
The low profile deck and the vessel deck acquired as well ensure that ALE Ltd is now ready for all the challenges future has in store. The company is globally regarded as one of the leading specialists for vessel transports. The use of the Goldhofer low profile deck and vessel deck allows ALE to keep the transportation height of increasingly huge cargo at an absolute minimum. As the THP/SL vehicle type is globally the most common combination system, ALE is able to increase its capacity at any time by co-operating with other companies without needing to procure additional equipment for special cases. “For ALE the investment in Goldhofer vehicles is an investment in the future. Our technology provides safety to the group of companies for future challenges and the expansion on the global market,” says Stefan Fuchs. The ALE group of companies is increasingly active, particularly in the Middle East. “And an expansion of the activities inevitably results in an expansion of the transportation fleet. It is nice that we got a chance here,” Fuchs says.
Since its foundation in 1983, the ALE group of companies has grown considerably. From the headquarters in Hixon (England) the company developed to become one of the leading global heavy-duty transportation specialists. Not only their modern transportation systems but also their heavy-duty crane technology makes ALE a sought-after provider on the global market. Yet, ALE is not only a strong partner for spectacular industrial transportation but also for civil projects.
