New platform for large crane booms from Goldhofer
Heavy-load specialist compliments product line with SPZ-DH 7 and 8
Designed for special cases, suitable for standard transportation: Goldhofer AG from Memmingen brings a multifunctional vehicle to the market with a new platform for large crane booms. With the model SPZ-DH, the specialist in heavy and heavy-load vehicles has worked in close cooperation with the Liebherr group to expand the platform range for boom transportation for the current mobile crane generation LTM 11200-9.1. The new platform is available with seven or eight axles.
The two vehicles are both based on the same new and innovative concept. The up to 105 ton booms from the current mobile crane generation are placed on the crane manufacturer's support blocks. The crane booms are form-fitted and secured in place on the loading platform with insertable consoles. The framework and lashing options on the trailer match with the contours and centre of gravity of the boom. "The individuality of the trailer makes it highly interested for a whole range of different cargoes. The platform masters special cases just as optimally as it does standard cargoes seen every day", says Stefan Fuchs, chairman of the board of Goldhofer AG.
With a trailer base length of 18,000 to 19,400 millimetres, cargoes of up to around 82 tons in weight can be carried in accordance with the German road traffic licensing regulations (StVZO). High payload reserves facilitate the transportation of the complete boom with export elements. And the know-how and quality of the Goldhofer vehicle impresses mobile crane users worldwide. Abroad for example, Al Faris in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) have equipped their fleet with the new platform. Whilst in Germany Eisele AG, from Hessian Maintal and H.N. Krane Nadolny & Schulze from Groß Schwaß (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) are also using the new Goldhofer equipment already. "We are delighted that the platform has been so well received. It also spurs us on daily to present more new products to our customers in the future. They should profit optimally from our transportation skills", says Fuchs.
