Goldhofer trumps at the "bauma"
The Memmingen-based company presents many innovations in Munich
With numerous innovations, Goldhofer, located in Memmingen in Bavaria, is anticipating the 29th international exhibition "bauma", which will take place from 19 - 25 April in Munich. The leading supplier of heavy-duty transport technology will present a new three axle flatbed semitrailer of the type SPZ-P 3 AAA for the transport of extremely long wind generator blades. They will also reveal a two and three axle version of a new compact dropdeck trailer with pendular axles of the type STZ-VP and further products, which will cause a stir in the transportation branch. In total, there will be seven Goldhofer products to marvel at at the "bauma".
"For us, the 'bauma' is an important benchmark in 2010. It is the leading trade event after all and for us the most important exhibition in the German-speaking world. On a booth of more than 1000 square metres with new developments, we want to send a clear signal and expand our market position", says Goldhofer's chairman, Stefan Fuchs.
Goldhofer opens a new market with the triple telescopic flatbed semitrailer
SPZ-P 3 AAA, a development which makes the transport of very large wind generator blades possible even over extremely difficult terrain. Goldhofer has with this development succeeded, for the first time ever, in telescoping a vehicle over more than 62 metres. Goldhofer's new flatbed semitrailer has a gross weight of 64 tonnes and a payload - depending on the tractor unit and applicable regulations – of between 24 and 38 tonnes.
A further new arrival is the compact dropdeck semitrailer STZ-VP with pendular axles that for short vehicle lengths brings under one roof a larger payload with greater mobility. "Because we were able to significantly reduce deadweight, there is a benefit of more than 2 tonnes payload per axle line compared to a vehicle with air suspension", says Fuchs. The vehicle has - depending on the design - a deep excavator recess in the bogie with a width of up to 860 mm.
In Munich, Goldhofer will also introduce a four axle trailer of the type TU 4 from its re-designed trailer series. This offers a multitude of standard features such as an excavator recess in the loading deck at the rear of the vehicle to make the transport of small and midsize construction machinery significantly easier. Goldhofer will also present an example from its new generation of semitrailers. The 4 axle semitrailer of the type STZ-L4 impressively raises the benchmark for an economic transport vehicle for construction machinery of up to 44 tonnes. The vehicle provides a loading height of under 785 mm, integrated telescopic side extensions and a new vehicle rear. The self-propelled PST/SL-E with electronic multiway steering rounds out the programme, presenting the various steering possibilities of a wireless Goldhofer radio remote control.
The Goldhofer AG (600 employees) is worldwide one of the leading suppliers of trailers, semitrailers, heavy-duty transport systems and aircraft tractors. To date, the heavy-load specialist has delivered more than 32,000 heavy-haulage vehicles in more than 70 nations. Many thousands of customers on every continent trust in Goldhofer's quality and service.
The"bauma" takes place every three years. A number of records were broken in Munich in 2007: 3002 exhibitors from 49 countries, more than a half a million visitors from 191 countries and a total area occupied by the exhibition of 540,000 square metres topped the numbers of earlier exhibitions many times over.
Goldhofer can be found in the open-air area North F8 /N819/1 with an exhibition area of more than 1000 square metres.
